The Office of Student Engagement provides students with opportunities to get involved, build leadership skills, and enhance their college experience. Whether through student organizations, event planning, or community service, the office supports student involvement across campus.
Student Organizations
Student Events Board (SEB)
President: Vani Chauhan, '25
The Student Events Board (SEB) is the primary student programming organization responsible for creating events that enhance campus life. It provides students with leadership experience and organizes many of the college’s most popular annual traditions, including:
- Welcome Week
- Shoremal (Homecoming)
- Fall Festival
- Birthday Ball
- Shorefest
- Concerts and performances
Student Government Association (SGA)

Established in 1919, the Student Government Association (SGA) represents students in administrative, academic, and social affairs. It is composed of three branches:
Executive Branch
The Executive Board consists of elected and appointed members who work to represent students in daily affairs. Members include:

Legislative Branch (Senate)
The Senate is composed of elected residence hall senators, class presidents, and the Speaker of the Senate. It serves as the voice of the student body and oversees the SGA Platform and legislative affairs.
Judicial Branch (Honor Board)
The Honor Board enforces the Washington College Honor Code. It includes nine student members, faculty, and staff.

SGA Services and Office Use
The SGA provides various services, including:

- Event planning and promotion
- Student leadership opportunities and advocacy
- Academic and student resource referrals
- A meeting and work area for SGA members

Fraternities and Sororities
Washington College fraternities and sororities focus on scholarship, social life, service, and leadership. The Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils oversee Greek Life, promoting community engagement and managing recruitment.
